The list of things you need to bring to the test center on the day of your Praxis test is short:
- admission ticket
- acceptable, valid photo ID
- a calculator, if allowed for your test
- acceptable face mask or covering
Masks and Gloves
You must bring a mask to the test center, regardless of local policy. If you come to the test center without a mask, you'll be turned away. The center or local policy determines if you're required to wear it the entire time at the test center. If they don't require it, you can choose to wear it during testing. Medical masks and cloth face coverings are acceptable. Masks with valves or vents aren't permitted.
You can also bring/wear rubber gloves, but they aren't required.
Test center staff may have access to masks, gloves and sanitizing materials. These aren't for test takers' use. All test center staff are required to wear a mask.
Note: Prometric operates some sites at universities that do not require masks to be worn. Test takers are allowed to wear masks according to their comfort level at these sites, but masks are not mandatory.
Don't Bring Personal Items
Personal items other than ID documents aren't allowed in the testing room or permitted during breaks. This includes phones, watches or any other electronic, recording, listening, scanning or photographic devices. Jewelry other than wedding and engagement rings is also prohibited. Clothing and other personal items are subject to inspection.
For a full list of prohibited items and items that may be inspected, see The Praxis® Tests Information Bulletin.
Before the test, you'll receive instructions from test center staff regarding where to store personal items. You won't have access to them during your test except for food, beverages and medication, which may be accessed during a break.
Test centers and ETS assume no responsibility for personal items you choose to bring to the test center.
Testing Accommodations
If you have health-related needs requiring you to bring equipment, beverages or snacks into the testing room or to take extra or extended breaks, you need to request accommodations in advance. Procedures for requesting accommodations are described in the Bulletin Supplement for Test Takers with Disabilities or Health-related Needs.
