Review the PPAT® assessment submission window dates and deadlines to determine which submission window fits your schedule and choose your window carefully. If you select a submission window and later decide to change to another window, you will be subject to a $40 reschedule fee. If you have entered task responses and then change your submission window, you will lose that information.
If the assessment you need to take does not appear for selection when registering, contact us. The registration deadline may have passed and late registrations may be available over the phone.
Submission Windows
- Registration, Reschedule and Cancellation deadlines take effect at 11:59 p.m. ET on the date indicated. Late Registration closes at 6 p.m. ET on the date indicated.
- Task submission deadlines take effect at 2 p.m. ET on the date indicated.
- The time zone for deadlines is Eastern time and may not be the same time zone where you are located. If you are not located in the Eastern time zone, it is important to determine the applicable time zone based on where you are located so you do not miss the deadline.

Late Registrations
If you miss the registration deadline, you may still be able to register for the assessment over the phone with our contact center. Late registration is available through 6 p.m. ET on the date indicated. There is an added fee for this service.
Task Deadlines
Tasks may be submitted any day before the submission deadline.
Each of the four tasks is due by 2 p.m. ET (1 p.m. CT; Noon MT; 11 a.m. PT) on the date indicated.
All tasks and artifacts must be submitted within the same submission window.
Tasks are accessible and submitted in a specified order. After you submit Task 1, you will be able to access the remaining tasks.
- Task 1 must be submitted first
- Tasks 2 and 3 are submitted next (in any order)
- Task 4 is submitted last
If you are not able to submit Task 1 by the deadline, you will not be permitted to complete the remaining tasks during the submission window and you will have to register again for a future submission window.
If you miss the Task 2, 3 or 4 deadline, you will receive a score of zero for the task(s) not submitted.
If you miss deadlines, you are not eligible for fee refunds.
Late Submission Service
Candidates who do not submit tasks by the original submission window task deadline (found above) may request an extension. The fee for this service is $50 per task. To register and pay for this service, candidates must call ETS customer service no later than 4 p.m. ET one day after the original submission window task deadline. The extension deadline to submit tasks is 11:59 p.m. ET on the second day after the original submission window task deadline. There are no additional extensions after that deadline and there are no refunds to candidates who register for this service and do not submit tasks.
Resubmitting a Task
During the resubmission windows, you may be eligible to register to resubmit responses to Tasks 2, 3 and/or 4 if you were not able to obtain the passing score for the assessment. For more information about resubmissions, refer to Resubmitting Your Tasks.
System Maintenance Windows
Several times during the year, ETS schedules downtimes where maintenance work is performed on ETS systems. The scheduled system downtimes that will impact your access to the registration and task submission system are listed below. The specific timeframe for each of the outages will be posted on your account before the outage. Plan your work in the system accordingly.
Remember, you can prepare task responses, artifacts and video files outside the system independent of these outages.
