California State University Programs

The Early Assessment Program (EAP) is designed to help high school juniors and seniors in California improve weak areas and polish strong ones by the time they begin taking classes at CSU. As freshman students enter the California university system, they are placed into classes using assessments in English and Mathematics developed and researched by ETS staff and known as the English Placement Test (EPT) and the Entry-level Mathematics (ELM) Tests.

The Criterion Online Writing Evaluation service is a web-based application that evaluates a student's writing skills and within seconds provides diagnostic feedback and a holistic score. Students use the Criterion service to plan, write and revise essays using free online planning templates and writers handbooks.

ETS Test Collection

The ETS Test Collection is the largest compilation of standardized tests and other measurement devices in the world. It includes external tests, surveys and related materials from a variety of test publishers and authors. This information is available to researchers, graduate students, teachers and others interested in assessment design and application.

Library Resource

The EXADEP test is a paper-and-pencil test that measures verbal, quantitative and analytical reasoning skills, which are important for success in graduate school. Four sections of the test are in Spanish and one section is in English.

GRE® Search Service

The GRE Search Service matches prospective graduate students with participating graduate schools and fellowship sponsors. Students who match the recruitment profile of a participating institution may be sent information about graduate programs, admission requirements, financial aid opportunities and other graduate education opportunities.

Graduate schools can use this web-based tool to create current and targeted mailing lists of prospective graduate students. Participating institutions can order customized lists for recruitment efforts and perform volume projections online anytime.

NCEA Assessments

NCEA assessment instruments are designed to strengthen catechetical education programs. The Information for Growth (IFG) survey for adults and the IFG: ACRE Assessment for students are tools to support effective catechesis for a lifetime of learning. Educational Testing Service (ETS) is NCEA's outsourcer for order fulfillment, online test delivery, scoring and reporting activities.

ParaPro Assessment

The ParaPro Assessment measures the reading, writing and math competency of prospective and practicing paraprofessionals, as well as their ability to apply these competencies during classroom instruction.

Praxis® Assessments

Praxis assessments are used for teacher licensure and certification by state departments of education and other certification agencies. The Praxis® Core tests measure basic academic skills, and the Praxis® Subject Tests measure general and subject-specific knowledge and teaching skills. PSAT/NMSQT® — Preliminary SAT®/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test ETS administers the PSAT/NMSQT test on behalf of the College Board and National Merit Scholarship Corporation. Texas Educator Certification Program The Texas Educator Certification Program develops and administers tests (TExES, TExMaT, TASC and TASC-ASL) to individuals seeking educator licensure/certification. TFI Test

The TFI test evaluates the French-language listening and reading proficiency levels of people whose native language is not French. Test results show how well people can communicate in French in business and academic environments.

TOEFL Junior® Test

This low- to medium-stakes paper-delivered assessment measures the degree to which middle school students have attained proficiency in the academic and social English-language skills representative of English-medium instructional environments.
