For tests taken on or after July 1, 2016, scores are reportable for five years following your test date. For example, scores for a test taken on September 16, 2017, are reportable through September 15, 2022.
For tests taken prior to July 1, 2016, scores are reportable for five years following the testing year in which you tested (July 1–June 30). For example, scores for a test taken on May 15, 2015, are reportable through June 30, 2020.
GRE scores earned prior to July 2012 are no longer reportable. GRE scores earned in July 2012 are reportable until June 30, 2018.
Every Subject Test yields a total score on a 200 to 990 score scale, in 10-point increments. Note that each of the individual test scales occupies only a portion of the 200 to 990 score range.
The Biology and Psychology Tests also yield subscores on a 20–99 score scale, in one-point increments. Note that each of the individual test subscore scales occupies only a portion of the 20 to 99 score range.
The GRE® Computer Science Test was discontinued following the April 2013 administration. Scores will continue to be reportable for five years following the testing year in which you tested (July 1–June 30). The GRE Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology Test was discontinued in December 2016. Scores will continue to be reportable for five years following the testing year in which you tested (July 1–June 30).
The ScoreSelect® option lets you decide which test scores to send to the institutions you designate. As part of your four free score reports, you can send scores from your most recent test administration or from all administrations of a Subject Test taken in the last five years. After test day, you can send scores from your Most Recent, All or Any specific test administration(s) for a fee when ordering Additional Score Reports. Scores for a test administration must be reported in their entirety.
The ScoreSelect option helps you approach test day with more confidence, knowing you can send the scores you feel show your personal best. It is available for both the GRE® General Test and GRE Subject Tests, and can be used by anyone with reportable scores from the last five years. For more information on your score reporting options, see Sending Your Scores.
